Week 7 | Selection Tools

For this weeks assignment and next week my family and i are on Bar Harbor Maine on vacation. My photos for this week I took during the towns July 4th parade.

The first photo that I chose to edit was of a guy standing in a fire engine during the parade. I liked the original photo but I wanted to get rid of the buildings and crowd around the edges of the photo to focus more on the guy in the engine.

The second photo I chose to edit was of the towns high school marching band. I like the original photo because I got a view strait down one of the lines of musicians but I wanted to get ride of the car that is in the bottom edge of the photo.

  1. I think you just cropped the photo you didn't use any tools???

  2. Cropping is definitely powerful - I crop a lot of my pictures (sometimes in multiple ways to focus on different aspects).

  3. Nice marching band picture. I was the conductor of my marching band for two years! Highlight of my hometown.

  4. That is exactly what cropping is for. Getting rid of the things that you don't want in your photograph. Preferably, this is done when you take the original photograph, but that is not always possible.
